Natal, Brazil

Unspoilt beaches, fantastic value for money

Find out why Natal is becoming a magnet for overseas property investors.

Natural Beauty

Natal is located on Brazil's northeastern coast and benefits from stunning scenery, including lush Atlantic rainforests and miles of unspoilt sandy beaches. Natal itself is know as La Ciudad del Sol, the Sun City, and boasts over 300 sunny days each year, with an average annual temperature of 26C.

Natal is recognised as the safest area in Brazil in a recent report by the Centre for Ibero-American Studies. It is also deemed as one of the most unspoilt areas on the planet (after Antartica). It is easy to see why overseas property investors are increasingly attracted to this area.

It is not only the geography, but the local lifestyle that is encouraging foreign visitors. Natal has a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere and has great local bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the wonderful local cuisine, such as juicy prawns (camaroes), succulent beef and pork, plus the freshest seafood and exotic fruits.

Investment Paradise

Economic stability over recent years has led to a steadily growing Brazilian economy and as a result Natal has seen a huge recent increase in overseas investment. This has been led, in part, by the infastructure and transport improvements, such as the building of the second international airport in the Natal region, and the opening up of cheaper air routes to many European carriers. Natal is only around 7 hours flight time from mainland Europe.

In addition Natal offers incredible value for money for foreign buyers when compared with established European markets. The Grand Natal Golf projects offer beachfront apartments from as little as £37,500 with only around £4,000 required as a securing deposit. The developers also offer very favourable payment terms.

The cost of living compares very favourably with European destinations. Everyday activities such as eating out and drinking in bars are substantially cheaper. Shopping and consumables are also significantly cheaper.

As a result of these enticing factors, investors have become aware of the large potential returns. 2006 saw average capital appreciation of over 20% in many areas. The unrivalled value for money and continuing growth in tourism mean that property in Natal makes an excellent choice for both "buy to live" and "buy to let" investors.
